Légende Pauillac

 WINEMAKER’S NOTES:

2012 was a difficult vintage presenting numerous challenges in the vineyard. After a harsh winter, the cool spring slowed down flowering, which was spread over a fairly long period. Fertilization was delayed by the rain in early June, resulting in decreased flowering and uneven grape size, and consequently low yields. The wet weather and lack of sun continued until mid-July. August and early September were hot and dry, with a substantial variation between day and night-time temperatures. This finally enabled the grapes to reach a satisfactory degree of ripeness before the heavy rain at the end of September.

Purple with good intensity. On the nose, very expressive, fresh, mentholated notes with toasted and spicy aromas. The palate is generous and powerful, with good tannic structure and a long fresh, licorice finish. A powerful and racy wine of great elegance and finesse.
