WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
We gently crushed and destemmed the fruit, then fermented the juice and skins in temperature-controlled tanks. We kept the new wine on skins to soften the tannins and develop more complex flavors. One hundred percent of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation to enhance depth and roundness. The wine was aged 6 months in oak to add a subtle, toasty nuance.
Inspired by the European travels of Robert Mondavi, this Meritage blend is rich, elegant, and complex. It includes all five classic red Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
