Bouvet-Ladubay Tresor Rosé

 WINEMAKER’S NOTES:

Bouvet-Ladubay exclusively selects grapes from Saumur’s renowned AOC vineyards, whose white limestone subsoil is ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Franc with a classic minerality and crispness. The mild climate coupled with the excellent drainage of the clay creates the natural acidity needed to produce a balanced sparkling rosé wine. The grapes are pressed in the vineyards and the juice is delivered directly to the cellars. Fermentation takes place in new oak barrels, then the finest wines from each lot are blended and the cuvée is bottled for the second fermentation, following the traditional method.

With salmon pink color, this wine is both delicate and intense, with fine bubbles. The bouquet is well defined, with floral aromas of iris and violet, red fruit and brioche. The woody vanilla finish is an influence of the wine’s fermentation in oak barrels. In the mouth, it is smooth and soft with a freshness accentuated by its bubbles. Wood and licorice notes linger.

PAIRING SUGGESTIONS:

The tangy flavors and spicy character of this wine makes it a good pairing with fish, white meats (chicken or pork), shellfish, appetizers and soft cheeses.

Pale in color, this is nutty in character, with a warm and rounded hint of red fruits. The wine has a soft, while still fresh, aftertaste. It is aged in cellars in Saumur on the Loire river.
