Gustave Lorentz winery is based in the village of Bergheim, in central Alsace, and is family owned and managed by president Georges Lorentz. The winery has been in existence since 1836 and has been passed down from father to son, now in its sixth generation. The region benefits from a continental climate, receiving ample sunshine and dry winters thanks to the rain shadow effect off the Vosges Mountains. The intricate relationship between the terroir and climate, is what sets these wines apart. All 85 acres are harvested exclusively by hand, and in 2012 became certified organic with ‘Ecocert”.
