WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
The diverse terroir of Paso Robles, with warm days and cool nights, is ideally suited to producing lush, full-bodied and distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
Award-winning Winemaker Nancy Walker, who has worked in the region for years, took advantage of the region’s diversity and microclimates to create HorsePlay. She selected fruit that benefited from a long hang time on the vine, developing true ripeness and producing fine tannins with intense phenolics. Believing in minimal intervention in the cellar, Nancy executes precision blending after a year of barrel aging. HorsePlay is brimming with bold fruit, a round rich mouthfeel and firm smooth tannins. It has a core of black and red fruit with notes of cocoa, cedar, vanilla and spice. The wine is medium-bodied with a silky texture, appproachable yet age-worthy.
We produced 5000 cases of the 2014 vintage, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
