WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
After we gently crushed and destemmed the fruit, we fermented the must in temperaturecontrolled tanks. Following fermentation, the wine was left on the skins to soften tannins and develop complexity. Malolactic fermentation enhanced roundness and depth. Aging in tank and oak for 10 months retained the wine’s vibrant fruit character while adding richness and complexity and softening tannins.
Our 2014 Merlot has a deep ruby color. It opens with aromas of fully ripe cherry and plum, with sweet-vanilla oak and baking spices. Flavors of raspberry, cherry, and chocolate mocha follow, with long, supple tannins.
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS:
