WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
Another powerful wine from a hallmark vintage, 2013 Cabernet Franc opens with bright blueberry, blackberry and plum notes enhanced by delightfully spicy hints of chai tea, cedar and cigar smoke.
The wine is firm in structure, complex in flavor and hits the palate with an elegant density of fruit – all hallmarks of our mountain-side estate. True to the varietal, the wine balances concentrated, dark bramble fruits with savory earth tones of bittersweet cocoa, sage and spice box with hints of lead pencil and toasty graham cracker on the finish. This is a prime example of a sophisticated and focused Cabernet Franc hailing from the Mount Veeder AVA.
