WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
Delicate, refined aromas of black raspberry, Darjeeling tea, sandalwood, and Bing cherry reveal a truly elegant wine. On the palate, flavors of mocha, red currant, vanilla, and anise are exquisitely balanced by supple, silky tannins. Deft handling of oak allows a subtle presence, one which does not overwhelm the delicacy or refinement of this wine. Grapes grown in the Anderson Valley’s cold, wet, windy climate are always on the cusp of not ripening on time for harvest, but this long development allows for beautiful, restrained floral aromas and subtle blue fruit and tea leaf flavors to develop in the grapes. The Anderson Valley is on proud display in this wine.
