WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
2014 is already considered a classic Oregon vintage. A long, warm growing season and a relaxed, bountiful harvest has given us Chardonnay with freshness, balance and depth. It is a perfect way to debut Roserock.
In the glass, our Chardonnay from Roserock has an intriguing, slightly golden tone. On the nose, there is a hint of pear, quince, ripe citron, honeysuckle and pine needle. On the palate, the wine is round and fresh, with only faint oak presence, and excellent acidity without tartness. There is structure, balance, great texture and an elegant mid-palate, leading to a long finish. It is a wine that will drink well for at least 3-5 years.
ACCOLADES:
90 Points, Wine Enthusiast – The first offering from Domaine Drouhin Oregon’s newly-minted vineyard, Roserock. It’s a young, fresh, fruity wine, loaded with flavors of apple, pineapple and light tropical fruits. There’s a light pat of butter in the finish. Drink over the next couple of years while the freshness is at its best. —P.G.
