Tuesdays Unscrewed
The perfect Tuesday night wine isn’t expensive, it has to go with a quick easy meal, or leftovers, and it has to taste amazing, because it’s Tuesday night and you shouldn’t compromise…
The Infamous Goose Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand are crisp, fruity, high acid and palate pleasing wines for the summer. They are versatile wines with food or refreshing wines to keep you cool on a warm summer night on the deck. Today’s featured wine is no exception with citrus fruit characteristics up front and nice minerality on the finish, balanced with acid. The name of the wine is a tribute to a now extinct species of flightless bird, the moa, that roamed freely on the south island of New Zealand hundreds of years ago. But, there is nothing extinct about the flavors and aromas of this wonderfully pleasing wine. Pair the Infamous Goose with light cheese, grilled seafood, chicken dishes or sushi and you’ll really enjoy the depth of flavor of the wine and the way it enhances the meal. Cheers!
