Jeff Cohn Cellars Rockpile Vineyard Syrah Haley

 WINEMAKER’S NOTES:

A robust, roasted character in the nose intensified by the black cherry and blackberry notes; these soar from the glass with cassis, harmoniously enveloping the senses.

On the palate this wine demonstrates a mineral-structured backbone. This multifaceted and extracted wine shows personality and character, while also being light on its feet. Dark roasted earth, black cherry and blackberry are hallmarks of this Syrah, more Hermitage like- never over the top.

ACCOLADES:

96 Points – Robert M. Parker, Jr. Wine Advocate
“The 2013 Syrah Haley Rockpile is one of them. Inky opaque/purple in color, the wine has incredible sweet blackberry richness, a beautiful floral note, and that crushed-rock minerality that seems to be part of this AVA. The flavor intensity is mind-boggling, the purity, texture and length exquisite. This is another prodigious tour de force from Jeff Cohn that should drink well for at least 10-15 years.”
