Tuesdays Unscrewed
The perfect Tuesday night wine isn’t expensive, it has to go with a quick easy meal, or leftovers, and it has to taste amazing, because it’s Tuesday night and you shouldn’t compromise…
Pike Road Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon
The Willamette Valley in Oregon is located just south of Portland. The higher elevation vineyards are perfect for pinot noir. Pike Road is a wine chosen from select vineyards, some that have been producing pinot noir for a very look time. It’s a perfect wine for this time of year. It’s on the lighter side with a lot of cherry and strawberry characteristics with some spice on the finish. It will pair nicely with grilled salmon or veggies, but will also be very enjoyable to have on the patio while enjoying the summer. Feel free to give it a slight chill or keep it in a cooler if you are outside, you wouldn’t want to drink it warm. Pike Road is named after the actual road that runs adjacent to the vineyards and is a small production, family owned and operated winery. It will be a great wine to match with your Tuesday evening! Cheers.
