Tuesdays Unscrewed
The perfect Tuesday night wine isn’t expensive, it has to go with a quick easy meal, or leftovers, and it has to taste amazing, because it’s Tuesday night and you shouldn’t compromise…
Stoller Chardonnay, Dundee Hills, Oregon
Oregon is a wonderful growing area for grapes like Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Today’s featured wine is from Stoller Winery, a family owned Willamette Valley, Oregon winery specializing in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This chardonnay is made to showcase its fruit, floral notes and spicy characteristics. Being fermented and aged in stainless steel, Stoller Chardonnay is not influenced by oak. The depth of aromas and flavors are amazing, balanced with nice acidity. This chardonnay is a great reflection of the diverse terrior of the Willamette Valley. It will be a perfect pair with grilled seafood dishes, grilled vegetables, or will make a refreshing wine to enjoy on the deck. Stylistically it captures the essence of Oregon chardonnay, it’s very different from classic California chardonnays which have more oaky characteristics. Serve this chardonnay at about 50 degrees. Cheers!
