We had another amazing group and another sell-out crowd at our Germany to Missouri class on August 5 at The Wine Barrel. The group learned about the German influences on Missouri wines and how German immigrants planted vines in Missouri as early as 1837.
The evening started off with Urban Riesling, Becker Pinot Noir, Monchhof Estate Riesling and Schlink Haus Riesling. We talked about the different styles of German wine, the harvesting of grapes and uniqueness of German wine growing regions. Then we traveled home to Missouri to taste wines made in our own back yard….Augusta and Hermann. We tasted Montelle Chardonel, Adam Puchta Norton and Augusta Ice Wine. We even treated the class to a taste of our own private label Syncopation Rhythmic Blend.
